What are crow’s feet?
Crow’s feet are fine lines or wrinkles that radiate from the outer corners of the eyes. These lines develop as a result of repeated contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscle, combined with gradual thinning of the skin and loss of collagen as we age.
The skin around the eyes is significantly thinner and more delicate than elsewhere on the face, which makes it more vulnerable to movement, dehydration and environmental damage. Over time, lines that appear only during smiling can become permanent and stay visible even when the face is at rest.
