Thread Vein Removal
What Are Thread Veins?
Thread veins, or dermal flares, are very fine, dilated veins, situated just beneath the surface of the skin. They can occur on their own but also may arise alongside larger varicose veins. Thread veins are most often harmless but unsightly but can be a sign of an underlying problem.
What Treatments Are Available For Thread Veins?
For thread veins on the legs and body it is widely agreed that the most effective is treatment by sclerosing injection, also known as sclerotherapy. Thread veins can be treated on many different areas of the body and often resolve with just a few sessions of sclerotherapy.
What about facial thread veins?
Sclerosant injections are not suitable for facial veins. These can be treated either by laser (IPL) or short wave diathermy dependent on the location on the face and the severity. We offer both treatments and the most effective course of treatment will be advised on consultation.
